Remarks I was standing in my living room looking south through our picture window. The saw the blue flash, but did not see a fireball because my view is somewhat obstructed. I thought at first that some fireworks had been launched from a sledding hill directly south of our house. We can not see the hill due to neighboring houses and large trees. While I thought it could be fireworks, I was also wondering how it could light up the entire southern sky. I don't remember hearing any sounds associated with it. I was inside, and it happened so fast, and I was so surprised by it that I do not remember any sounds. It wasn't until the weatherman on KTTC from Rochester explained that it was possibly a meteor that I even thought about that being the cause. We were gone over the weekend, but the Rochester newspaper had a story about it, and mentioned your website for reporting any sightings. My parents in Cresco Iowa also saw it as they were driving in Cresco. They said it seemed to be all around them, and thought it was lighting (which they thought was strange for December) until they heard on the news that it was possibly a meteor.
