It looked like a giant shooting star though with a shorter train. The train looked almost fire-like. I remember some color to it but can't remember now what color. It was quite large and I had a fleeting concerned for a second that it was a missile but there was no explosion and also unlikely.

It had a glowing train behind it. The object disappeared behind buildings toward downtown San Diego and train was still visible when it disappeared from my view.
