It came from over my left shoulder and exited in the western but slightly south part of the sky. The pic I took might show a smoke trail but looked more like a regular cloud.

It sputtered, I would say. It had a “water in the fuel lines” kind of a flashing effect. Not consistent. I took a picture within 5 seconds or so and drew where I remembered it.
