Remarks Our house, from where I saw the meteor is in a semi-rural area but there is a lot of artificial light and not the best place to see meteor showers. Yet this one flared into view much brighter than typical meteorites. I had just enough time to put my thumb up for reference and this was slightly larger than my “thumb scale”. It was spherical with a short but definite tail. The sphere was bright white with an orange corona and the tail was yellow. I have seen a few similar meteorites so I was surprised when there wasn’t any impact sound. I waited a few minutes to see if there were any more, but didn’t see any.
