Remarks | I was driving east when the sky started flashing like there was lightning. I looked out my truck window to the northern sky and saw more flashes behind the clouds, then a bright blue streak appeared through an opening in the clouds. The streak was fast and sharply defined... the tail was about the same width and color as the fireball itself. The fireball was moving across the sky from east to west at a slightly downward angle. I turned the radio off and rolled down the window to listen for a boom, but did not notice any sounds above my road noise. The fireball disappeared behind the clouds. I did not see a terminal flash. I was still exciting to witness. |
