Remarks I was outside around 10 pm looking north because I was seeing if I could see an aurora because there was a X.5 solar flare that on the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center website said led to a G4 storm. I did not see the aurora, but before I went inside, I saw the fireball. I had seen meteors before, some by luck, also last year when I stayed outside at 5 AM in December to watch the Geminids, meaning I knew the difference from when my eyes were playing tricks on me to a real meteor. Meteors I see in meteor showers a small and dim but viewable, but this I saw was not a normal meteor. I never saw a meteor that big or bright. It was not an extremely big fireball, it didn’t light up the sky, but I still saw it in between the houses and trees near the horizon. One thing was that I never saw a meteor with color, and this one was blue-green. Usually in meteor showers I see what look like small dots or points fly in the sky, while this I saw grow in size and it’s streak/tail was also thick as well as the fireball itself. I really wish I caught it on video, because it was beautiful, I could tell I witnessed something remarkable, and I was actually on my phone just minutes earlier taking long exposure pictures to try to catch the aurora, but that was to no avail. So I reported hoping that someone else could confirm what I saw and also that it may be known what I saw, for indeed that was a marvelous meteor.
