Remarks | I am an amateur astronomer and have followed meteor showers for years. This was by far the brightest I have ever seen and instead of fizzling out like most meteors do, there was a bright green "explosion" at the end. |
Fragmentation | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | After streaking for about a second along a SSE to NNW trajectory, there was a sudden flash that was bright green with a bit of blue that reminded me of the color of the comet Hyakutake. At the flash, there was a very brief fragmentation, with one bright fragment visible northward toward the horizon for about a half second. I pulled out my cell phone and it was 11:01 pm. |
