At first I thought someone had shot off a roman candle and I was seeing the fireball return to the ground. It wasn't until the next day when my secretary was telling us about the meteors and she asked me what time it was in disbelief (jokingly) and when I said around 8:15 pm. she confirmed the time and then I realized that I had seen it but had thought it was a roman candle since it was travelling straight down and I had no reference of size or distance.
