Though the Perseid peak wasn’t supposed to be ideal this year, this startling observation which resembled a flare on steroids was well worth the trip to dark skies.

Remarks
We were high in Sierra for PERSEIDS event and amazed at the huge bright white streak falling straight down ending in acid green fireball. Have never seen anything like it in 50 years of mid-August dark sky watching. Truly delighted!
