It was strikingly large compared to previous meteor showers I've seen, but the speed / duration and the appearance (tail and single explosion) were typical of a meteor.

A single, bright explosion. Noticeably bigger than the tail. No debris or lingering sign after the explosion. Pretty sure it was an orange tail and white and yellow explosion.
