Reports Report 3979l (Event 3979-2025)

Observer
Name David M
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks This was bright enough to be seen initially through Oleander bushes and continued just above the house behind ours, then it passed between treelines which was a fully open unobstructed view. This was the absolute largest and closest streak I've ever seen. The trail took at least 10 seconds to dissipate. I continued to watch to see if it reappeared past the tree line going from Right to Left, which is a NW to SE direction, and it was STILL GOING STRONG! I saw it reappear for another few seconds and watched the trail dissipate. I immediately told my wife and went to see what time it was and it was 2:23am PST, then I went online and investigated and decided to file this sighting. I'm not positive this was a meteor or a burning up rocket, as I found there was a Space X data link launch at 7pm'ish PST from Vandenburg.
