I was looking down and saw the flash which got my attention leading me to notice the smoke trail. As such I have low certainly that what I saw was in fact a fireball, and my details submitted regarding viewing hight and direction of travel may not be dependable. I was actually imaging the dumbbell nebula at the time of event so I will see if any of my exposures from the time of occurrence yield any clues.

The flash caught my attention like lightning. Only the smoke trail was visible afterward.
