Remarks |
Direction I was facing: Northeast (toward where the Sun rises, slightly toward the North)
Direction the meteor came from: High in the sky, falling almost vertically from above
Direction it ended/faded: Lower in the Northeast sky, approximately 50–60 meters from the point of origin
Duration of the event: Around 2–3 seconds
Brightness: Extremely bright — brighter than Venus, close to Moon brightness
Color: The meteor had a blue glow with bright white-blue sparks all around the trail. It looked like a blast happened at the start, and then it left a glowing trail covered in light particles.
Fragmentation or Explosion: Yes, the meteor seemed to explode at the start, and then created a long glowing vertical line with blue and white spark effects.
Sound: No sound heard
Photo or video evidence: I don't have a real-time photo or video, but I took a photo of the same sky area at 10:48 PM IST and digitally drew what I saw (spark trails and blast area). I can share this if needed.
Additional Notes:
I believe this was a rare meteor fireball. It was visible for just 2–3 seconds and very bright. It happened in the Northeast sky. I haven’t found any news or reports yet, but I think it may have been visible from other parts of Maharashtra too. This was the most unique and rare event I have seen in the night sky. |
