The sky is still a light blue here. I’ve never seen something like this except for when it’s pitch black out. Stopped me in my tracks.

I’m assuming it was the reaction to passing through a layer in the atmosphere but it emitted a bright yellow/ white light, on top of the light it was already emitting.
