| Remarks | This was super cool, and when I arrived in Mammoth Hot Springs about eight minutes later, I was able to converse with another family that saw it. Please know the first part of my experience was the inside of my driver's cab turning a blue light from outside, almost the same time of light you will see at the beginning of a planetarium show. Before I even realized what was happening, a strong orange streak came overhead in the same direction I was driving, and fragments were coming off of it. From beginning to end, it was two to five seconds. I saw one fireball about 28 years ago, but this was by far more impressive. Only the sun's total eclipse in August 2017 compares to this moment. |
