I was driving Southbound on 101, this was moving downward from left to right appearing over hills and downward. As it appeared the brightness was intense white and size seemed narrow (like a thin line) that quickly grew wider and in under a second there was a flash nothing for a split second and then the same thin line of while streaking light appeared again and widened traveling under the horizon. Max time for this was 2 to 3 seconds. I imagined it making to the ocean from my viewing angle but I was looking from the freeway over a mountain and it was far away.
