| Experience Level | 4/5 |
| Remarks | This had to come out from the sun’s position. Time of day and size dictate it to be a classic “no warning” space rock. As I said, we were lucky, very lucky. I’ll check the time stamp of a text I sent immediately after. |

| Persistent train | |
|---|---|
| Observation | Yes |
| Duration | 15s |
| Length | - |
| Remarks | Train grew ≈ to three fists, began as one finer. Moved across the sky, splintered, left smoke trail at finish. It was biblical. |
| Terminal flash | |
|---|---|
| Observation | Yes |
| Remarks | Was first a bright point that grew, then splintered, proceeded to the north-northeast, extinguished, leaving a smoke trail. No noise. I’m an amateur astronomer. It was spectacular! Destructive size. We lucked out. It was, at least, city killer; since no sound, maybe a planet killer. I’m also retired FedEx pilot. I’ve seen several. This was collosal! |
| Fragmentation | |
|---|---|
| Observation | Yes |
| Remarks | If I had not witnessed th trajectory unfold, I would have said it was the space station breaking up. Lack of a sonic boom, suggested that it crossed several states. Reports from New York suggest it was transcontinental. |
