Remarks 2-3 small white-burning pieces a few degrees in front of the mass of HUNDREDS of individual pieces burning, trails persist for 5 seconds behind objects.

Remarks I saw it just after it started coming apart. The main body consisted of hundreds of individual fragments. Took close to a minute to transit to ENE horizon. Most spectacular astronomical event I have seen in 55+ years as an astronomer.
