Reports Report 1114t (Event 1114-2025)

Observer
Name Justin L
Experience Level 4/5
Remarks Just that it appeared to break apart in South Knoxville from my perspective. It looked like sparks once it fell apart, and those "sparks" could be seen in a way that made it seem like there should be meteorites in Knoxville.

Observation Yes
Duration 1s
Length 10°
Remarks Just a quick, glowing streak behind (above it from my perspective)
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I saw it as it hit the atmosphere with a flash that turned green.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks It broke apart into orange, glowing pieces (molten rock). The breakup, to me, actually appeared to be in front of the hills on the horizon!! It appeared to break up over the Davenport Rd area, from my perspective. It was the biggest, brightest meteor that I've ever seen, so it seemed very close, especially when it finally broke apart.
