Reports Report 575e (Event 575-2025)

Observer
Name Brittany W
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks Outside of some beautiful moon phases, I have missed so many observation events in the past few years due to poor weather/visibility, or not hearing about events until they had passed. This was the first event I have seen in probably 24 years and it was spectacular.

Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 1s
Length
Remarks A ruler held at arm's length, I would say the train measured around 1cm in length. There was a puff of smoke that appeared a little below where it seemed to finish and lasted approx 1-2 seconds.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks It was colourful and bright and appeared just before the puff of smoke. Similar sort of colours as reported, but the orange fire tones were definitely prominent for the moment it occurred.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks The train of fragmentation looked like a sparkler, dragged quickly through the air, and sparked away from the fireball with bright 'white light' colours. It was really quite beautiful as the sparks seemed quite distinct as they came off the main mass.
