Reports Report 7525j (Event 7525-2024)

Observer
Name Leslie L
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks What I did get to see was a really neat experience, even though I missed the "main event". I am often looking skyward when outside. I've seen/identified satellites, the ISS, the Shuttle (when it was in service), a Starlink train, several "shooting stars"/typical meteors. Nothing I've seen has ever looked like this did. I am certain it was not generated by an aircraft or helicopter, or any other manmade object that was under control. Even if I'd thought to use my phone, it would have been gone and I'd have missed it entirely. I'd like to know if this is ever identified. Thanks.

Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 6s
Length 15°
Remarks It seemed to have slight luminescence and I watched it because I wasn't exactly sure what I was seeing. I faded rather quickly, but not as fast as steam, and it did not appear to dissipate while still visible; it held its shape. It was pretty far away from my location, maybe as far away as I-4.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks Unfortunately, I had just turned my back blanketing my horse after having sky-watched while they ate. I saw the bright flash reflect off of her blanket and turned to see the train left behind. I watched the train because I wasn't quite sure what I was seeing. When it faded away rapidly, I realized I had very likely just missed actually observing a fireball.
Fragmentation
Observation No
