Reports Report 5836a (Event 5836-2024)

Remarks My first instinct was this was a firework, however it was approx. 0040hrs, the locale was dead-to-the-world, there were no other "fireworks" before or after, and it was completely silent. The object was tracking almost perfectly due south to north at a very flat (near horizontal) trajectory and (apparently) at very low altitude of circa 100m. The glow/flash was extremely short-lived, but very bright (like a flash from an electric arc welder). I was walking my dogs at the time, and did not have the means to check the exact time. Based on the time when I got home I estimate the event to have occurred around 0040hrs on 10 Oct 2024, with a near certain time range of between 0038 and 0046 hrs.
