Reports Report 4661c (Event 4661-2024)

Observer
Name MIHAI P
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks I can not estimate the duration of the event because I was at ground level, in a garden, between 4 story buildings so the object disappeared behind a building I was next to, at 10 meters from the building. I have seen satellites before (a constant light with no trail going across), and meteors that go across the sky in an instant and the tail also disappears in an instant. I have never seen an object entering the atmosphere with fragmentation taking place, but videos of such an event I saw plenty. This object, at first, I thought it was a jet with afterburner but it was quite fast and the tail was too long, plus there was a ball at the tip. Seeing this I thought that if it was a jet, such a view would mean the jet is low but there was no sound, not then, not later. If the object was as high as a passenger jet, the the trail would be very long and the speed many magnitudes the speed they usually pass over. If it was a lot higher then I think it could be a meteor but I am not sure because the meteors I observed streaked across the sky in an instant.
