Reports Report 2785z (Event 2785-2024)

Observer
Name Ted S
Experience Level 4/5
Remarks The fireball disappeared behind the house across the street from us. Looked like it was heading into the ocean. Definitely seemed to me like it had entered the atmosphere. It was a small dot of matter and you could really make out the heat "shield" in front and around the object in person much better than the video shows.

Remarks I didn't notice the smoke trail until well after the fireball disappeared. I can't be totally sure the smoke trail belonged to the meteor but it's was in the same direction, about the same height and angle. But the smoke trail appeared to be much closer than the fireball and got closer overtime, and slower was skewed by the wind and dissipated.
