This was directly above me so some of the questions here diffcult to answer especially around the horizon question. It appeared to be very large and therefore appeared very close. Would be extremely interesting to know anything further you are able to find out. We were viewing the northern lights at the time so looking skyward...hence so late/ early in the morning!!
