Remarks I don’t know enough about fireballs to have confidence that this truly was one, but, never in my 35 years of living have I seen a shooting star this big!!! Completely shocked & amazed. The trail it left as it arced downward across the sky looked sort of like a thick firey glowing orange smear. The head of the “fireball” appeared to come very close to the horizon (the viewing angles were hard to re-create virtually on the map given in this report — take their accuracy with a grain of salt please!). The “head” or “ball” part looked partly like that of a huge shooting star except much bigger, and looked… for lack of better words, like a firey ball. And the trail blazing behind it was much thicker than that of any shooting star I’ve ever seen. Its trail did not persist after the fireball-like object actually disappeared from view, but it was a very long and noticeable trail. Surely longer than any shooting star I've seen.
