Reports Report 2132akc (Event 2132-2013)

Observer
Name Robert H
Experience Level 5/5
Remarks I am an astronomer at Ohio Wesleyan University. For some reason (being so surprised, I guess), I did not think to record the precise time of the event, but I did carefully note the location of the trail relative to the Great Square so that I could reconstruct the path from memory as best I could.

Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 60s
Length 30°
Remarks It was a glowing train consisting of yellow and white "sparks" similar to those produce by many fireworks. It was definitely not straight; it appeared to corkscrew. It's brightness steadily but slowly decayed for at least 30 second, probably longer. I stretched out my arms and determined that it was about three fists wide. It was directly beneath the Great Square of Pegasus, near the border with Pisces.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I only caught the end of the fireball itself. It was bright blue flickering on the ground which got me to turn around and look up; I saw the blue of the fireball for only a fraction of a second at the end of the trail, but not at its brightest. So it probably is not best described as a terminal flash that I saw.
Fragmentation
Observation No
