I was in a stadium filled with 96,000 screaming Alabama fans. If there was a sound I would not have noticed. The fire ball appeared in the sky above the upper deck and burned brightly with a tail of fire and disappeared within about 5 seconds... It was kind of large. I thought at first it could have been a jet bursting into flames. People all around me commented on the same ball of fire. Our seats are in the west stands... 52 rows up. (Corner of the end zone....) the fireball appeared directly in front if me above the upper deck.
