We are a group of amateur astronomers and ham radio operators. The flash was so bright that it was startling. Some of our group was in Homer Glen Illinois conducting a public observing session. We decided to try our luck at our "Dark site" in Yorkville Illinois. We had some BSAA troops stop by and shared some views with them also. By 1:00am I took an SQM reading of 20.15. One of the best readings out there to date.

Remarks
A flash of green lit lit up the area like somebody had lit off a firework. A glowing smoke trail. The green light seemed to drain from top to bottom as water from a straw then it was all gone.
