We had just taken off from yvr on route to Maui. Had a window seat. Right hand side. Looking north. Saw fireball travel from upper right to lower right. Had time to alert my cousin and he witnessed it as well. Was lightning bright and would have lit up the bay if it was dark out. Lasted several seconds from when I first saw it. Thought it was another plane at first. Very impressive!
