Initially I had my back to the light. I was alerted that something was happening when a noticeable flickering of light lit up the vegetation around me. I turned and then saw what I have described above.

the final part of its trajectory had splinters of white (and lesser so yellow) light separate from the head of the "fireball". These splinters were above and below the main green light of the meteor.
