It started as a shooting star directly overhead, then grew in size and intensity forming a tail with sparks of multiple colors as it flew overhead towards the horizon. It was close to the size of a house by the time it disappeared over the homes. It almost looked like it was going to crash behind them. I was with a group of people (4-6) who saw it too.
