This occurred during a watch session of the Perseids shower, facing mostly Northeast towards the Cassiopia atar formation this appeared to generate from a Northwesterly direction. Activity was high with 50-60 meteors per hour from our vantage point. Biggest flash I've seen in 40 years of active shower watching. About a medium dark sky situation - Able to see shadow of Milky way pretty clearly.
