| Remarks | Summary: Was traveling due south on West Park Drive in Novi MI (NW of Detroit) a few hundred yards north of Novi Road at approximately 7 am. Fireball streak had the appearance of entering the atmosphere large and bright directly in front of me at about 60 degrees above horizon. The appearance of the speed was about that of a fast bird at a fairly close distance. Ball got progressively smaller as it traveled downward - approximately ESE direction - at about a 30 degree angle. Traveled far enough that I had to move my head from front windshield to side window of car to see the whole path. In far ESE of my vision, ball appeared to break into several pieces with flare/sparkler type flashes - much of streak was still visible for a few seconds after it passed a spot, like a comet trail would. Streak was a bright fairly fine line. |
