Reports Report 2039cq (Event 2039-2023)

Observer
Name Fintan A
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks I had never heard of a fireball before googling what I saw. I initially thought it was just an astonishingly large and long-lasting shooting star, but based on what I’ve seen and read since, it was consistent with a fireball. I have absolutely no scientific background, though.

Remarks My spatial reasoning is extremely poor, so I’m afraid you’re going to have to take my estimation with a generous pinch of salt. I remember seeing a smoke train that lasted for a few seconds, but I was somewhat in shock because I’d never seen a fireball before and my brain was still processing what had just happened. I just remember seeing smoke for a few seconds, I’m afraid.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I saw what appeared to be a shooting star at first, but it almost immediately exploded into a fireball that looked much, much larger than a planet, but still smaller than the moon, and it lasted for somewhere around five seconds. I have never seen anything like it and was actually quite shocked for some time afterwards.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks There was one main fireball, but I could see parts of it shooting off the main one. I’m afraid I don’t know how many there were in total.
