Reports Report 1864a (Event 1864-2023)

Observer
Name Joshua P
Experience Level 5/5
Remarks Brightness of the meteor may have been affected by city lighting. Timing of occurrence may be off by +/- 1 minute or so, i apologize for not being able to provide a more accurate time. As stated before, the meteor went from having a conventional shape to having a very strange shape and increasing size and brightness before disappearing. The shape took on an arrow head like shape almost like the conic shape of a shockwave following a jet going supersonic. The trail of the meteor and the cone took on a strong green colour, I am nearly confident that it was the same shade of green given from ionized copper. City lighting may have affected specific shade of colour but did not affect judgement that there was distinct orange white head to meteor and green tail section, stars at a similar altitude on the horizon had resolvable colours. The meteor was very resolvable with low apparent optical scattering so I believe it wasn't very high in the atmosphere or distant from me as an observer. This means that it was almost certainly recorded by sky cameras from the CN tower in downtown Toronto, as well as instruments at the very nearby Pearson airport (meteor was most definitely not a plane), if you are able to contact either those then i would recomend doing so given the concrete information they can provide as well as possible imagery/video of the event.

Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks Flash took on an odd shape with what looked to be two copper green rear facing tails when the flash occurred so the flash appeared like an arrow head in shape. The head of the flash was a strong orange white.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks The phenomenon described in the flash may have been a very symmetrical fragmentation event with part of the meteor proceeding forward, and two (or more) fragments thrust backwards with respect to the meteors center of mass. This is not certain tho.
