Wow, this was a lucky observation. We were in our car heading north on I-69 in Indiana and it simply appeared out of nowhere. I suppose all those nights of "looking up" paid off with this amazing and spontaneous sighting.

Solid robust green trail fragmenting into 2-3 closely connected trails heading from east to west and maintaining altitude around 55 or 60 degrees above horizon before disappearing. Appeared suddenly and very bright in dark night sky.
