Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I was a navy pilot. Long history observing sky space and aerial phenomenon. I would say this was clearly a meteor. Having observed several showers, I’d says this was one or two orders of magnitude brighter. It was the brightness that drew my attention up. It was traveling a clear straight line from overhead on a heading between 145-155 degrees. My initial thought was ‘missile’ then I saw what appeared to be starburst with at least 5 or 6 tendrils of light fragmentation.
