I've worked outside all night for more than 15 years and have witnessed a number of interesting 'objects' in the night sky. This was definitely the largest and brightest object I have ever witnessed.

Remarks
When directly overhead, the object was very bright and had a glowing train about 20° long moving very slow, for a meteor. Appeared more like a satelite burning up on reentry.
