Reports Report 9045ae (Event 9045-2022)

Observer
Name Cole D
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks The sighting was bright enough that it caught my eye through the window of my condo while I was watching a movie. The sighting was also long enough that I was able to still observe it for what felt like a few seconds. It was fiery in appearance and lit the sky around it. It was high enough that I was able to see it over buildings from my downtown Toronto condo from the 21st floor looking over berczy park, but low enough that if I was two floors lower I probably would have missed it behind the tall buildings that are there. Really cool. Glad I saw it.

Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 0.8s
Length
Remarks It began as a solid train and then began to look more fiery, as if it was fizzling out, but clearly looked like fire towards the end of the sighting as apposed to the bringer streaks that fade as I have seen before. This one was much thicker and fiery than anything I’ve seen before.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I was looking away when this happened, but the brightness of the sky is what made me turn my head and look out the window of my condo, and then the bright flash dissipated into a bright glowing night sky around the fireball and then dimmed … I may have missed a flash and I can’t tell you if it made a noise because it’s noisy in the city so didn’t hear anything.
Fragmentation
Observation Unknown
