Reports Report 8441a (Event 8441-2022)

Observer
Name Nemo D
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I can remember clearly the exact place I was standing, and was in the process of pointing out and explaining the Orion constellation to my Caregiver when the event occurred. I do not know if it will help, but I have a *vivid* visual memory of the streak and the angle, relative to Orion, from my exact position. I understand this could be used to more accurately locate where the meteorite fell. and so I mention it. My Caregiver was with me, and saw the same event, and can help corroborate it.

Remarks Bright blue streak almost straight downward from the Moon, to the left of Orion and Taurus from position of viewing, exploded after 2.5 seconds into multiple trails of bright yellow clustered together, followed by a large yellow flash with blue at the edges that faded after another 2.5 to 3 seconds. Trails lingered for a second after. Looked like a strange firework coming *down* and exploding on the horizon line, instead of going *up* and exploding in the sky.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks The object was leaving an icy blue streak, bright enough to stand out against a *full* moon, and then suddenly grew *much* brighter, forming a teardrop-shaped nimbus of bright yellow light, that multiple yellow trails came down from. Something in these trails flashed again, bright yellow with blue at the edges, and after that there were only leftover trails leading from the sky to the horizon line, fading from yellow.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks Exploded after 2.5 seconds into multiple trails of bright yellow clustered together, followed by a large yellow flash with blue at the edges that faded after another 2.5 to 3 seconds.
