| Remarks | I was driving eastward on Interstate 64 north of Mascoutah, Illinois. I have approximated my viewing location as best I can, but I was in a moving vehicle. The time should be accurate. The fireball was bright green, brighter when it first appeared in my vision the top of the windshield and fading as it fell over 2-3 seconds. It reminded me of watching a star from a Roman candle fall back down to earth. I had the impression that it was very nearly aligned along the same path I was traveling along, since it seemed to be travelling away from me, toward the east. All in all a beautiful experience. |
