it was a very clear cool night. the half moon was in sight so there was bright glow from that, but I was still able to see the brightness of this shooting star. My sister in Pittsfield MA (150 mi west) also saw 2 similar ones about 10 min before I saw this one. Mine was brighter and longer than hers.
