Reports Report 7315dv (Event 7315-2022)

Experience Level 1/5
Remarks It happened so quickly that my husband and I hardly believed what we saw. I've seen a few shooting stars high up in the sky during meteor showers in the summer months, but never, ever anything like this. This thing was BIG, and it appeared much lower on the horizon, instead of high up in the sky, like most shooting stars. We actually thought it might have hit somewhere nearby because it s arced movement seemed to actually end at the horizon line. We were in our car at the moment we saw it, stopped at a stoplight on a street corner (My husband, who was driving, spotted it at the same time I did and yelled). There was a female pedestrian standing on the corner who was also looking up at the sky. When it was over, I rolled down my window on the passenger side where I was seated, and said to her: "Did you SEE that?!" And she said, "Yes! What WAS that?" I told her I thought it was a meteor. Then the stoplight changed, and we drove on.
