Reports Report 7223e (Event 7223-2022)

Observer
Name Taryn G
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I'm no astronomy expert, but I just wanted to add that I've been watching meteor showers since I was a little girl and I've only seen one other meteor that was anything near this memorable, and it was 15 years ago. I've never seen a meteor with such a vivid color as this one last night. I saw about 10 other meteors tonight, but all were much more typical white meteors and none were this big, slow, and near the horizon. I would love to know if anyone else saw this!

Remarks -
Delayed Sound
Observation No
Remarks -
Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 1s
Length -
Remarks The train was white or light yellow behind the bright green flash and lasted after the green flash ended. There was a moment when both the green flash and the white trail were visible at the same time and I could see the clear contrast in color
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks The flash burned bright green, I have never seen anything like it in my life. It looked like an extremely pigmented green Roman candle firework slowly falling out of the sky. It took me a second to realize it was a meteor. The flash was so vividly neon green. It was glowing too, like you could see the flame around the green ball and the color was more vibrant right before it burned out.
Fragmentation
Observation Unknown
