Reports Report 5982q (Event 5982-2022)

Experience Level 4/5
Remarks Whatever it was, it did not disintegrate in my view. I am a USAF veteran and ex-instructor. I live 12 miles away from an airport and numerous aircraft were visible at the time (all had flashing lights). Knowing that this object (meteor or satellite) was burning up due to the earth's atmosphere it was an awesome sight. That being said, the object was obviously much higher than any of the aircraft, but 5 times the size. The trail behind it was like an oxy/acetylene torch, (the tail from the object back= white, yellow then orange). Oxy/acetylene would have blue in the flame. I did not see that. I've witnessed missiles being launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base and the space station passing by at 17,500 miles per hour. This object was much closer and very fast. I'm going with satellite.
