Remarks Streak of light with a bright multicolored terminus. We both thought the streak had color too, but it could have been the terminus colors passing very rapidly and fooling our eyes. As we drove east, it passed very rapidly from nearly my left peripheral to almost directly ahead, slightly arching. The streak did not linger, and the terminus winked out in clear night sky about 30 degrees above horizon. Some few cars of oncoming traffic (traveling west) and one in front of me (traveling east) approximately 200 yards ahead. Some of those cars hit their brakes and seemed to swerve during the 2-3 seconds of passage. In general, it seemed much closer than commercial flights due to its size and was much faster.
