Reports Report 1438cf (Event 1438-2013)

Remarks I was standing outside with my husband and neighbors, talking. We only saw the very bright flash of light but did not see the meteor itself as we were unfortunately surrounded by tall trees and there was some light spotty cloud cover. I can only say that it happened between 12:00 am and 12:15 am, as we didn't think to look at our watches. Only when we heard this morning of other local reports from the same time last night, did we realize what it was. At first we thought it was a bluish bolt of lightning but then there was no sound and radar showed the nearest rain storm was well over 100 miles away. We did hear an unexplained and unfamiliar boom about 5-10 minutes after we saw the light. Unsure if it is related.
