| Remarks | I live 50 miles west of Austin. I was facing east and saw a bright object appear ESE at about 40 degrees traveling from my right to left at about a 45 degree down angle. It started out very bright, then faded and flashed brightly a couple more times. From my perspective it appeared to be headed straight for Austin. It was moving slightly slower than others I have observed, and it lasted long enough for me to question if this was the Big One before fizzling out - about 5 or 6 seconds. It was one of the most impressive fireballs I've seen. |
