| Remarks | I didn't see the meteor first appear; was walking WSW with friends along Penn when my friends called out and pointed. I turned and saw maybe a 10-degree track. Meteor was easy to see in the fading twilight, even in the city. Maybe magnitude -3, a little fainter than Venus would be. It wasn't very fast, less than 5 degrees per second. We wondered if it might be re-entering space junk. I'm not very sure of the azimuth relative to Penn, but think it was roughly 45 degrees rightward, which would put it near azimuth 300. |
